After initially tasting Sonoma County's West Of Kentucky Bourbon and meeting Adam the owner and founder, we decided to try the rest of their range, being a big fan of Whiskey, I found this really enjoyable. It's a very nicely balanced Rye. Not being a huge fan of very smokey or peaty whiskeys. I really like this, it's very subtle at compliments the flavor instead of dominating it.
Made with a base of rye grain, and complemented by wheat and a hint of California Cherrywood-smoked barley, this inventive spirit is meant for those who seek out the flavors of a classic Manhattan cocktail in a distilled spirit. Aged in new American oak barrels for no less than one year, the blend is rounded out with notes of dried figs, toasted almonds, brandied cherries and new leather. This is Cherrywood rye whiskey
Aged in new, charred American oak barrels, the Cherrywood Rye Whiskey features the aromatic notes of vanilla, allspice, and white pepper, with an initial nose of California Cherrywood, smoked malted Barley– locally smoked especially for our whiskeys.
