This is a very interesting wine from Tenuta San Francesco, their Quattro Spine is a blend of Aglianico, Tintore and Piedirosso from old vines. This blend provides a very interesting drink that has a rustic, but elegant feel. We are split 50/50 at secret cellar on this wine, its a marmite and something we like to stock as an alternative option.

Tenuta San Francesco is located high up in the mountains, in the small town of Tramonti and we are proud to have established a close relationship with Tenuta San Francesco to represent them as their exclusive UK Distributor.

Production area

Tramonti, the green heart of the Amalfi Coast, All the vineyards are characterised by high-density soil, situated on steep - sloped terraced lands between 300 and 500 meters above sea level.

Description
A lively Aglianico based wine, where the usual signature tannins are offset by the fuller bodied Piedirosso and Tintore, the nose is dark berries, oregano and morello cherry, with a very light balsam notes with a liquorice, spicy initial taste, followed by a full bodied berry taste from the Tintore.

Food Pairings

Perfect served with a grilled meats( ideally bbq'd), vegetarian dishes or blue cheeses.
